Usually, refurbished equipment is something which was returned for some reason, and they repaired it, i.e., refurbished it, and now they are trying to sell it. is NOT new, but rather used and checked out to work as if new. There is nothing wrong with refurbished equipment. Just check what the warranty says. If it comes with the same warranty as a new item, it can be a sweet deal.
A refurb unit is usually one that was sold in a store and purchased by someone who had a problem with it and returned it.
The stores then return these units back to their sources, and ultimately they all end up back in the hands of the manufacturers.
The manufacturers then test these units and repair any damage they may have. Then they get cleaned up, reboxed, and sold as “refurbs” at less than retail cost.
The only “bad” thing about refurbs as that they MIGHT have very minor scratches or wear marks, and sometimes not even that.
The best part about refurbs is that you know the actual unit you get has been functionally tested by a factory tech and has passed factory specs. Refurbs are also sold with full factory warrantys and all the originally bundled accessories.
